The source code of everything the packages ship

Rtorrent 16 and its add-ons are built from the open-source components below. rtorrent and libtorrent are GPL-2.0-or-later; other parts carry the licences listed beside them. For every component there is a copy of the exact source archive the build used, a link to where it comes from, our patches, and the scripts that build the packages from them.

Rtorrent 16's own code: freeware

Rtorrent 16 is freeware: no fee, no licence key, no paid tier. Its own code (the Control Center, its API and scripts, the add-ons' own code) is under the Rtorrent 16 Freeware Licence 1.0: free use on QNAP NAS units, at home and at work; no modified copies and no redistribution; the rights the law gives every user (a back-up copy, study, interoperability, fixing errors in your own copy) and security research stay yours. The build scripts are GPL-2.0-or-later (COPYING). Security reports: security.txt.

Bucket & Code Server IDE: freeware (Bucket & Code Server IDE Freeware Licence 1.0); its build scripts recipes/, lib/ and pkg/ under GPL-2.0-or-later (COPYING); the project templates and examples may be changed and shared in your own work.

Build scripts and patches

rtorrent16-build-scripts.tar.gz holds build.sh, build.conf, lib/, steps/ (one script per component, with its configure options) and patches/. With the archives below in dl/, ./build.sh rebuilds the binaries.

The patches applied on top of the rtorrent and libtorrent release archives, each with its explanation in its header. Every one of our own is also sent upstream as a pull request:
