Rtorrent 16 for Android 1.1.0Rtorrent 16 for Android: privacy
Rtorrent 16 for Android connects your phone to the Rtorrent 16 panel on your own NAS. The panel's pages, the .torrent files and magnet links you open or share with the app, and your phone's name go only to that NAS, over HTTPS, at the addresses the pairing gave the app.
On your NAS
The NAS keeps the phone's name, when and from which address it was last used, and a hash of its token, so the panel can list the phone and revoke it. It also keeps the phone's notifications for up to 7 days (at most 200). Revoking the phone on the panel's Phone app page deletes all of this.
Instant notifications
With Google Play services on the phone, notifications arrive at once through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging and our relay at www.qnaputilities.com. Your NAS seals each notification for your phone alone, so the relay and Google pass on a message they cannot read.
For this the relay keeps the phone's Firebase token, a hash of a random relay token, and when the phone registered and was last sent a notification. To limit abuse it counts registrations and wrong tokens per public IP address; each address and its count are deleted after three days. The relay deletes a phone's registration when you revoke or unpair the phone, and at the next notification after Google reports the token gone (after the app is removed). A registration nothing uses any more keeps only the two tokens and the two dates.
Without Google Play services the app reads its notifications from your NAS about every 15 minutes, and nothing goes through the relay or Google.
On the phone
The app stores its pairing and its notification keys on the phone, sealed by a key in the phone's Android Keystore, and leaves them out of backups. The camera reads the pairing QR code only; the picture is not kept.
Nothing else
The app has no account, shows no ads, and contains no analytics or crash reporting. Apart from the relay registration above, it sends nothing to the developer.
